Marie Maiolo Muchow offers mediation services with an emphasis on personal injury, medical and insurance matters. Raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Ms. Muchow is fluent in Spanish and possesses a deep understanding of Hispanic Cultures making her an effective communicator. Marie has experience working in insurance defense
and as a plaintiff personal injury attorney. She has a balanced perspective and a deep understanding of the most relevant issues and dynamics in order to facilitate resolution of claims. Ms. Muchow brings decades of mediating a variety of civil disputes in the Bay Area.


Ms. Muchow obtained her B.A. from the Catholic University of America, Washington DC in 1986 and her JD from the University of Florida in 1989 where she earned an Appellate Advocacy Fellowship and worked for two different personal injury law firms. After passing the Florida State Bar in 1989, Ms. Muchow worked as a litigation associate for a major insurance defense firm and later became a partner at the law firm of Maiolo Campbell & Wotton where she handled all firm litigation specializing in personal injury matters and assisting members of the Hispanic Community.


In 1996, Ms. Muchow moved to California and became a member of the California State Bar, initially as an insurance defense litigation associate. In 1998, she founded the firm of Harris & Muchow where she was the Managing Partner representing injured parties in a variety of personal injury matters. In 2005, Ms. Muchow established a solo practice and focused on plaintiffs’ personal injury claims and mediation services. In 2024, Ms. Muchow retired from active practice to focus on mediation and her position as a professor for the hybrid on line program of Monterey
College of Law, formerly Empire College of Law.


Ms. Muchow currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Sonoma County Bar Association and as the Chair of the ADR Section of the Sonoma County Bar Association. She serves as a Settlement Conference Judge Pro Tem for the Superior Court of Sonoma County and has served as a Small Claims Judge Pro Tem in Sonoma County, and as a panelist in the Sonoma County Superior Court Mediation Program.

Previously, she was Vice President and President of the Sonoma County Consumer Attorneys Association, and Vice President of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Marie is currently a member of the Sonoma County Bar Association, and the California and Florida State Bars.

Ms. Muchow also serves as an Adjunct Professor at the Santa Rosa Junior College teaching Discovery, Legal Research and Legal Professions in the Paralegal Studies Program. She is a Professor at Monterey College of Law, teaching Contracts I and II and Alternative Dispute Resolution.
